My 5548UP won't recognize my DS-SFP-FC4G-SW transceivers. The Storage license is installed and the `feature fcoe` is enabled. The transceiver LED stays amber, `show interface` says the transceiver is of type "Unknown", and `interface fc x/y` does not work. (substitute any value for x/y).
There's nothing in the documentation, that I've found, explaining a configuration procedure to get the Nexus to recognize the transceivers, other than enabling the FCOE feature, which I have done. Am I missing something, or does my 5548UP not support these Fiber Channel transceivers? After all, this is *why* I got the 5548UP without any expansion modules.
Any help here would be nice.
Thanks,
Mike.

are you running latest 5.0(3)N1(1c) ?

It shipped with 1b. I didn't see 1c for download on Friday. Was it just released?
I read the release notes, but there isn't anything in there regarding this. Are you referring to a specific bug that's fixed in 1c?

Upgraded to 1c; no change (no surprise). I'll have to open a TAC case, I guess.

Please let me know what you find out, I'm curious! I don't even see 5.0(3) SAN Switching configuration guide on CCO yet! I love it when Cisco's documentation appears on CCO some time after FCS

I guess they forgot to make the requisite documentation public. It should be forthcoming, as the documentation team is now aware of it.
Here's what TAC walked me through:
The tech mentioned that there are some limitations or restrictions as to groups of ports that can be configured together, so it may be best to wait for the documentation or open your own TAC case before doing this. Also note that a reload is required each time a port type is changed.
