Hello everyone.
I am completely new with Nexus and I am going to upgrade two 7010 from release 5.1(3) to 5.2(3a) due to a BGP bug.
Just want to know if any of you have done a similar upgrade and if there is anything that I need to pay special attention?
Do I need to reinstall all the licenses?
I am starting to read documentation but any advice will be apreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Joao.

Hi Joao,
You need not reinstall licenses if you are using permanent license already. Please check the below command to verify the license file exist on the device,
Nexus#show license brief
Nexus#show license usage
For NX-OS upgradation, if you are using dual supervisor, please verify that both supervisor has same DRAM (by default it will ship with 4GB and it can be upgrade upto 8GB)
Do #show system resources will show you the memory installed in the active supervisor (Since you are running 5.1.3, you might be using 8GB memory)
Nexus# show system resources
Load average: 1 minute: 0.16 5 minutes: 0.23 15 minutes: 0.21
Processes : 561 total, 5 running
CPU states : 0.5% user, 14.0% kernel, 85.5% idle
Memory usage: 4109636K total, 1998524K used, 2111112K free
To check the memory capacity on standby supervisor, please check below,
Nexus# attach module <module number> (where the standby supervisor installed)
Nexus#(standby)# show system resources
Load average: 1 minute: 0.00 5 minutes: 0.07 15 minutes: 0.06
Processes : 409 total, 2 running
CPU states : 2.0% user, 2.5% kernel, 95.5% idle
Memory usage: 4115812K total, 1703036K used, 2412776K free
The Cisco NX-OS software supports in-service software upgrades (ISSUs) on devices with dual supervisor modules. An ISSU can update the software images on your device without disrupting data traffic. Only control traffic is disrupted. If an ISSU will cause a disruption of data traffic, the Cisco NX-OS software warns you before proceeding so that you can stop the upgrade and reschedule it to a time that minimizes the impact on your network.
An ISSU updates the following images:
Berfore upgrade:
Use Nexus# intall all kickstart bootflash:n7000-s1-kickstart.5.2.3a.bin system n7000-s1-dk9.5.2.3a.bin
See the below document which explain about the upgradation procedure,
Please inform me if you need more detail
