I am planning to upgrade N5Ks (5596) pair and four N2Ks from 5.2.N.1 to 7.x.x.x. This will be done during a downtime so I can go for a normal non-ISSU upgrade.
- Is it OK to go to the latest release 7.2.x in one step or do I need to go 6.x.x and then to 7.2.x?
- Should I expect any changes in config /default config that I must be aware of?
- What is the latest stable N5K release?

You can directly go to 7.2.x
As for changes in the config, usually you should not see that, but than again some commands will changes per version. I would read the release note for that version, so you are no surprised.
As for a stable a version, it depend on the feature set you are running, but so far 7.2(0)N1(1) seems to be ok.

Thanks Reza. Do you suggest doing "install all .." for N5K and N2K upgrade. Is here any requirement to change bootvarible?

Hi,
Have a look at the upgrade guide. It all depends on how you do the upgrade.
