NM-16ESW issue

I have a site with a 2811 router which has a NM-16ESW module. The SVI does not seem to come up up even after connecting devices to the port, it always shows up down. Could not find any issue with the configuration. Am I missing something?

Router2811#sh ip int bri

The router has a PPWR-DCARD-16ESW, but still the IP Phones do not seem to be getting power.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Yes, you are right: with EtherSwitch Network Modules these are only available options, I am sorry about that. Also to my knowledge there is no other option to PPWR-DCARD-16ESW daughter card which would allow 802.3af PoE negotiation. So to support the CP-7941G-GE phone with your network module the easiest way would be to use AC power source (CP-PWR-CUBE-3= with the appropriate country power cord) provided you have only couple of these phones. Also when EOS of NM-16ESW back in 2008, Cisco suggested replacement by NME-16ES-1G-P network module which is capable of both pre-stanadard and 802.3af, so you can consider this.

I am sorry I cannot provide better information or help.

Best regards,

Antonin

Thats fine, now the interface issues are all resolved.

We have lot of other phones which support Cisco Prestandard PoE, so we can use them.

Thanks Antonin

Hi Antonin,

I have another 2811 router with a NME-16ES-1G module, will this support POE?
