I have a c2821 router with a NME-16ES-1G-P installed. My laptop is connected to port Gi1/0/1 and is setup to enter sleep mode after two hours; after it has gone to sleep more often that not it cannot connect to the switch and ends up with an Autoconfiguration address as it can't get an address from DHCP. When I move the laptop connection to any of the other Fa1/0/xx ports it connect OK. The only way I can get port Gi1/0/1 back working again is to reload the module. When the issue occurs the status of the port is displayed as up and the protocol is also displayed as up. If I shutdown the port then no shutdown it there is still no connection. All the ports are on the default vlan1, the green LED underneath the port turns green and flickers. The module is running 12.2(55)SE8 but I have also tried 15.0(2)SE5 with the same result. If anyone could help shed any light on this I would be most grateful.
