not able to ping from my windows server 2012 r2 to systems in LAN but opposite is pinging

I have got an hp server having windows server 2012 r2 OS, IP 192.168.0.60 and when i connect it to an Windows 8 OS IP-192.168.0.50 through LAN cable,no DHCP no gateway, ping is successful from system to the server but from server to system it fails, although i can access all the shared folders of the system from the server.

Hi,

I would suggest looking at the following;

1. Confirm if the Windows firewall is enabled on your server?

2. Are both client and server in the same VLAN? (You didn't provide a subnet)

It's the firewall or also called Windows defender in windows 8. Disable that to test and if that works, enable the firewall and create a exception.
