OSPF / EIGRP for IBGP

Is it OK to run OSPF or EIGPRP and redistribute the routes into BGP within the same AS instead of running IBGP?

Hi Ranji,

Yes, of course, this is actually the way common networks are done. However, in a transit autonomous system, you will still need to have iBGP at least between your PE routers, and if you have a classic transit autonomous system without MPLS, you will also need iBGP on each of your backbone routers.
