Does anyone know if perpetual PoE is supported on C2960XR-24PD-I? (currently running15.2(7)E2)
I get error when trying to configure perpetual PoE on any of the ports.
switch(config-if)#power inline port perpetpual-poe-ha

EDIT - we did configure 3850 onwards
I do believe 2960 supports this feature - as per the document.
try this command - power inline port poe-ha
or post output - power inline port?

thanks for your quick reply, been searching this topic for few days now. I am new to Cisco switches and trying to setup it up on few ports that have PoE access points on them (white papers also do say there is perpetual PoE support on these switches)
what could I be doing wrong trying to configure it?
switch#conf t
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
switch(config)#interface Gi1/0/1
switch(config-if)#power inline port ?
2-event Enable 2-event classification
2x-mode Apply 2X power level to the port
switch(config-if)#power inline port

After Deep Looking at some documentation, this what I see for the 2960 model.

Perpetual PoE is only supported from 3650/3850 (3.7.X and later) and newer model.

this 2960XR data sheet suggests Perpetual PoE is supported.
Perpetual PoE is supported on the Cisco Catalyst 2960-X and 2960-XR Series.

I have 2960X (not XR) and running the latest firmware -- it is not supported.

Thank you all

yes, that is bit odd ( datasheet has support information) in reality it was not. as i mentioned ii only able to see this command on 3850, we do not have any more 2960 to confirm, hope your query address correctly here.

Wait a second ... 2960X/XR does not support Perpetual PoE but it does support Fast PoE.
The command is very similar:
power inline port poe-ha

@Leo Laohoo yes i have suggested, he do not see that command, i do not have device to test
switch#conf t Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. switch(config)#interface Gi1/0/1 switch(config-if)#power inline port ? 2-event Enable 2-event classification 2x-mode Apply 2X power level to the port

If I remembered correctly, Fast PoE was introduced on 15.2(6)E.
Can you try downgrading to 15.2(6)E?

yes, I know it's an old switch but I bought this switch after reading the white papers hoping it would support constant PoE during reload....installing c2960x-universalk9-tar.152-6.E.tar, let me report back here once done.

Tried all 15.X firmwares, CCP 1.8 shows checkbox to enable perpetual PoE but command not there in any of firmware. Looks like the data sheets are wrong about 2960XR supporting perpetual PoE

Like I said before, Perpetual PoE is not supported on the 2960X/XR but Fast PoE is.
