Ping issue

Hi,

Topology:

XP1 - MC AT&T 102XL - MC AT&T 102XL - XP2

When I try to ping XP1 to XP2 or vice versa, reply times swings from 20 ms to 800 ms. Avarage can be about 300 ms or something like that.. That is when I ping with normal 32 bytes ICMP packet.

When I realize increase the ICMP packet size example to 1024 bytes, reply times decrease to <1 ms.

I have changed all(!) the parts of this topology, including the connection fibers, fiber pairs from the panel and etc. but the symptoms are same.. Why the ping behaves like that?

Regards,

Teemu

It could be OS driver problem, try to reinstall the TCP/IP driver.

Hi All,

I tried all duplex and speed settings, but symptoms were same. I'm not sure about OS drivers, but I'll update those and let see what happens then.

hi Teemu,

Have you tried to change Duplex / speed setting. This might help you.
