3560 vs 2960

Hi,

what can make me choose between 2960 and 3560? what are the advantages on the 3560 which I will not get on the 2960?

Hi Jorge,

The major difference is 3560 is also a layer 3 switch while 2960 is a pure layer 2 switch.

3560 is capable of inter vlan routing and supports routing protocols based on IOS which it is having where as 2960 works only as a pure layer 2 switch.

In addition to Ankur's post, the 3560 series does have POE capable switches which could be helpful while deploying IPT
