Hi ALL
I have two Cisco 9300X-24Y-E stacked switches. I want to implement etherchannel between my cisco switches with an avaya switch.
After the configurations and the interconnection of the switches, the port-channel goes into "suspended" mode.
Note that the cisco 9300 switch does not allow me to type the command "Switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q".
Need your help to solve this problem which prevents me from evolving in my project.
below is the ports config in etherchannel:

righit, thatĀ“s good. And did you try with mode "passive" and or "on"? on the cisco side?
ā07-22-2023 12:17 PM
@Flavio Miranda yes I tried with mode "passive" but it's the same.
ā07-22-2023 12:19 PM
And mode "on" ?
ā07-22-2023 12:28 PM
@Flavio Miranda I have not tried the mode "on" . Can we use the mode "on" with the standard LACP protocol between cisco switch and third party?
ā07-22-2023 12:36 PM - edited ā07-22-2023 12:38 PM
Yes as the Avaia actually seems not running LACP at all.

ā07-22-2023 12:45 PM
Sorry, what I meant is that the Avaya seems not to be understanding the LACP from cisco side.
I would try mode "on" just to make sure
ā07-22-2023 12:49 PM
@Flavio Miranda Ah ok I understand what you mean.
Alright I'll try that when I'm on site and get back to you.

I have found in another forum this config for Avaya side
lacp key port 2/23,4/23 10
lacp mode port 2/23, 4/23 passive
lacp aggregation port 2/23, 4/23 enable
They are connecting with Meraki but it might also help you.

The output only show that the port is in suspended. Did you try with mode "on" as we talked last week?
And what about the config I share related to the avaiya side?
lacp mode port x/x passive
lacp aggregation port x/x enable
In order to test this config on Avaya you need to change cisco to passive mode also.
ā07-24-2023 04:29 AM
@Flavio Miranda @MHM Cisco World
I changed the configuration to "on" mode and the port status changed from S to P.
what does this mean please?
ā07-24-2023 04:34 AM
Means this:
S - Device is requesting Slow LACPDUs
P - bundled in port-channel
After that, could you communicate? How are you testing anyway, instead looking the interface status?
