Port Span question

I have a link between two Cisco 7600 with TenGig interfaces , I insert a optical splitter (1 in / 2 out) in order to connect a switch Cisco 3560 and configure  port span on the TenGig interface of this switch to another interfaces in the same switch in order to connect a platform that perform traffic monitoring tasks.

The problem is that I can't see traffic on the TenGig interface on the 3560 switch. Is not possible to do that? the only way is replace the optical split for a optical Tap?

I appreciate your comments.

Regards.

Mario

kind of confusing what you are trying to do that's why you probably haven't seen any responses yet. Can you post a diagram of what you are trying to do?

I have also faced similar situations and found that it happens in  certain types of traffic ike PPOE or Q-in-Q type. Kindly check the traffic type on your link. Certain  other types of traffic also port mirroring feature may not mirror which is not documented any where.  The traffic at source port  is visible but a mirror session is not able to replicate the traffic on destination port. Kindly give your further observations on it.
