Preliminary switch setup before adding to stack

Hi,

I've read a few guides on adding a new Catalyst 9200 to an existing stack, including making sure they have the same version.

But one thing that wasn't clear was if you had to do any other basic preliminary setup on the new switch before adding it to the stack with the proper cables. Like do you need to create a user account and setup vty lines, management IP, and whatnot separately, or will everything on the switch just automatically match the existing kind of config as the rest of the stack once it joins? I'm thinking that's the case, from what I understand, but just wanted to confirm quickly.

Also, say if some things were already configured separately on the new switch that differed from the others, what happens when it joins the stack? Do those configurations/settings disappear and get subsumed into that of the rest of the stack?

 You don't these settings, will be inherited from the current elected stack master, in that context it's better to add it with an empty configuration , but make sure that it's stack priority does not override that from the stack master ,

I always follow below steps ( Cat 9200 or CAt 9300)

1. make sure you offload the config out of the box safe

2. Offline build the new switch  with Correct IOS XE to match with exiting Stack

3. change the Switch numnber and priority.

4. save the config and turn off the device.

5. Prepare the racking and mounting the kit in

6. configure on the Live stack switch provisioning.

7. connect the Stack cable (hope below URL give the information)

8. Power on the new Switch to be  part of stack.
