QoS for skype on cisco switches/routers?

Customers are reporting poor Skype screen sharing over.  These users communicate over a GRE tunnel configured on a Cisco switch from this branch office to a remote data center.  I believe that Skype is hosted in cloud.  How would we go about classifying/treating Skype screen sharing with QoS?

Hi, Have you configure qos for skype on user end devices and the switches? Is the branch the only affect site? If the issue is suspected to be the gre tunnel, then check that qos pre-classify is enable. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/quality-of-service-qos/qos-policing/10106-qos-tunnel.html Thanks John

Hmm, you mention both GRE tunnels and hosting in "cloud". If either, or both, uses the Internet, that often raises issue when it comes to taking advantage of QoS (which if often needed when dealing with any kind of latency sensitive applications).

GRE tunnels also create their own issues. How much bandwidth your links have, could also create issues (i.e. serialization delay).

If you could further describe your environment (in detail), we might be able to help you determine whether QoS could help mitigate your issues.
