Hello All,
1-I have configured a DHCP server for VLAN 1 , specified the network / gateway values , when i plugged my laptop into the switch port it couldn't obtain an IP , i have then configured the "interface vlan 1 " and made it up , the DHCP then worked successfully , could anyone let me know why it was mandatory to configure the interface vlan 1 for the dhcp to work? , i have then configured another vlan and interface vlan , so i managed to configure per vlan DHCP and it worked.
2-how can i seperate user's authorization over the switch? i want to let some users able to access the global configuration mode however other users only be able to perform the show commands.

Hi @xZamalek ,
1-DHCP services is a layer 3 protocol, so it is necessary that the device that has the service configured has IP addressing.
