I've been pouring over the info for the 3750's and cannot find some info anywhere.
Can anyone tell me what the CPU speed is for the Cisco Catalyst 3750G-48TS? Also how many module slots if any does it have?
Next, how many module slots does the Cisco Catalyst 3750E-48TD have and how many 10 GB ports?
Finally, we're looking to purchase two switches and are considering the above two switches along with 3Com Switch 4800G 48-port and 3Com Switch 5500G-El 48 port. Any opinions?

Next, how many module slots does the Cisco Catalyst 3750E-48TD have and how many 10 GB ports? 48 Ethernet 10/100/1000 ports and 2 X2 10 Gigabit Ethernet uplinks.
I will not put 3COM in my network (I do have other vendors though).

Am I correct in that the Cisco Catalyst 3750G-48TS switching capacity is only 32 GBPS while the Cisco Catalyst 3750E-48TD is 160 GBPS?

The reason for the large disparity is that the E series supports 10gig connections. Since the 3750 non-E series does not support 10gig, its fabric can be lower.

The fabric capacity of the 3750G is 32 Gbps, and of the 3750E, 160 Gbps; but there's also forwarding performance to consider such as the 3750G tops at about 38.7 Mpps and the 3750E at about 101.2 Mpps.
Why the difference? Well besides, as Collin notes, the 3750E supports dual 10 gig, the 3750E series supports more (2x) stack ring bandwidth and the switch is targetted for Enterprise usage (the 3750 series more for SMB.)
BTW, the 3750E series Stackwise+ is "smarter" than the 3050 series Stackwise.
Oh, and vs. other vendors, when we speak of "stacking" switches, insure you're really comparing the same feature. Some other vendor's stack feature is Cisco's cluster feature.

I think the biggest difference is that the Cisco's are both fixed port. There are no real modules to speak of. It's all ethernet. And like the other guy said, the management can be done through a simple console port although most have web-based GUIs now.
