I am suspecting it as a hardware issue...........please help .
(Please do not suggest to reset for Xmodem as I am aware of it)

Hello Manjit,
>> 00:01:11: %SYS-2-ASSERTION_FAILED: Assertion failed: "reg_used_xdr_portid_to_lc_logical_slot()"
this is more likely a software issue rather then an hardware one. In simple words the new IOS image does not fit with your device.
I know you will not like it but, unless the old IOS image is still on flash, you will need to use xmodem again.
You need to put the device in rommon at startup and then you will be able to load the old IOS image if it is still present on flash.
follow this procedure
once you get access to rommon prompt, you initialize the file system and you will be able to try to load the old IOS image
Hope to help
Giuseppe

thanks a lot for your help.
But I have few questions....
1.could u please explain me about the below output :
POST: PortASIC CAM Subsystem Tests : Begin
HTD POST: Basic Test Failed
POST: POST Failed
POST: PortASIC CAM Subsystem Tests : End, Status Failed...........
POST: CAM test failed
POST Failed: disabling stack links and shutting down SDP
driver class subsystem initialization failed

As per the above output.....POST is failed. Is it related to current IOS (New).
Also as..u r telling that..the IOS is not fit for the switch but I upgraded successfully the same IOS to another switch of the same model.
Awaiting yr reply.......................

Hello Manjit,
sorry for causing confusion. There is a test failed and I've missed it.
This may lead to an hardware issue as you have originally suspected
ignore my comments I'm wrong on this.
Hope to help
Giuseppe
