I have a 6509 with 2 sup720's configured with redundancy. I have not been able to find how the network interfaces on those two modules should be connected.
Do both modules just have the same connections? i.e. if port1 on sup720-1 is connected to the network then sup720-2 should have the same port on it connected to the same place?
Even though the modules are live and standby, I can still address each of the 4 interfaces separately no matter what the sup720 status is. So I'm confused because all 4 ports are live and configurable with 4 separate configurations at once.
Thanks,
Chuck

OK, That helps.
I only have one 6509 and it's the access layer distribution point. The sup720's connect to the core layer in a different part of the building via layer 3 and eigrp.
So I can just mirror the connection to the core but using different layer 3 IP's and the routing protocol will figure it out if one fails.
Thank you for pointing me to that. I was not able to find a search string to help me :-)
