Hello,
I read a lot of guides but I am not sure if I understood it right. My intention is to remove one switch from a stack with 3 devices.
Stack master and members are Cisco WS3750-X-48 devices.
Are these steps so far correct:
1. power off switch which should be removed
2. remove stack cable and re-cable existing two switch members (1 master and 1 member)
3. Power on switch which was powered off in step 1. Un-provision this switch because it is still a stack member
type: no switch x provision ws-3750x
Nummeration should be moved from GI3/0/x to GI1/0/x
4. reboot
So far okey?

Hello
Just remember depending on the location of the switch you wish to remove from the stack, its removal could cause the stack to split (if stack ring is only half open running at half speed) or with a full stack ring the stack ring will half whilst you remove the switch, Also if the switch has active uplinks it removal will cause a topology stp change on the network.
1. power off switch which should be removed
2. remove stack cable and re-cable existing two switch members (1 master and 1 member) thus closing stack ring
3, Un-provision this switch from stack ( from stack master)
4. Power on removed switch, write erase it and reload the now standalone switch

a remark here, the unprovision command should be executed on the active stack master
on the removed stack member 3 (which you poered on) you should execute "switch 3 renumber 1"
and maybe write erase to have a clean spare switch
