HI All

I am planning to replace 3750 Switch stack of two with a 3850 stack of 2.

Configuration wise nothing will change .

>Will it be possible to copy the config from 3750 and past  it on the 3850 ?

>what is the method of doing this migration ?

Thanks

Hi

You can copy an paste bit by bit but  these are different software versions , your going from ios to ios-xe software so some things may be slightly different in some syntax but generally its all nearly identical

as well the interfaces may be different in how there presented so pushing the whole config at once may cause a problem

I would bring the stack up , copy in all the global running configuration bit by bit making sure it all takes and then complete the interfaces in a range command if there all configured the same or one by one if there different

Hi

most configuration options are the same except for qos.

The 3850 has MQC while the 3750 has MLS.

We use QOS so i had to re- design the QOS config for the 3850

Also DOT1Q has become the default, so switchport mode trunk is all that is needed.

ie switchport trunk encap DOT1Q is not needed anymore.

Good point Ton forgot about the qos if you are using it and have to translate from mls to mqc this will help
