The 2921 would be the newer version of that model

Thanks, but does the 2921 have proxy features /Internet Bandwidth Management.

Yes it supports those features you will ned a license for these devices, here is a couple of links that cover the 2921 and has links to the other 2900 series routers and then an overall link for the series which contains what there capable of if that helps

It very much depends what you are doing with your 2621.

  1. If you only use the build-in FE-ports and you are only using basic features and need a router that is still supported: The Cisco 881 is one of the cheapest router that could be a replacement.
  2. If you are using a WAN-interface, one of the other 88x could match your needs.
  3. If you need many features and also want to have a rackmount-device, then the Cisco 2901 could be a perfect fit.
  4. And if you want investment-protection and buy a router that will be probably supported for the longest time, then the 4321 or 4331 could be the right device.

Depends what you mean by "best" replacement.

You need to define your performance, feature, interface requirements.

In a later post, you mention "proxy features /Internet Bandwidth Management", but exactly what do these features mean to you?
