So i've recently bought a CS-2960-S and tried upgrading it.
Since uploading the lastest firmware using TFTP kept failing near the end i've decided to delete the running firmware folder (c2960-lanlitek9-mz.122-50.SE4) from the flash.
After that uploading the new firmware (c2960s-universalk9-mz.152-2.E9.bin) was a success.
when i change the boot path (boot system flash:c2960s-universalk9-mz.152-2.E9.bin), save (write mem) and reload the switch i get the message 'error loading 'flash:/c2960s-universalk9-mz.152-2.E9.bin". I did check md5 hash before rebooting, but now seem stuck at the boot.
Smart as i am i haven't made a backup from the previous firmware, and for some reason this version is no longer offered on the cisco site.
I have also tried restoring using the mode button, but the SYST led keeps flashing.
any idea's?

Hi,
Cat2960 boxes came with 2 flavours: Lanlite & Lanbase software. You cannot upgrade or downgrade between these two. Yours is clearly Lanlite. So far you have tried to boot either the 2960S (that is different from 2960-S) or Lanbase IOS. Will you please try to get the proper IOS version (ie. c2960-lanlitek9-mz. .....) for your box. There are plenty of IOS verions available for the "Catalyst 2960-24-S Switch" at Cisco download page.
Good Luck!
Best regards,
Antonin
