Router TFTP issue PLEASE HELP!!!!

I recently lost my ios when trying to upgrade it. I have a 2612. In rommon I entered the ip addresses and file name and when I use tftpdnld -r it appears to not be reaching my pc as for it is only coming up with dot and then timing out. My pc is set to the correct ip and I am using cisco tftp 1.1. I have the routers eth0/0 connected to pc with a crossover cable. Please help I am in the proccess of learning for my first cisco cert and this has put a halt on things.

Are you able to ping? Also please ensure Windows FW is off if you are using a windows machine, or any other OS for that matter.

Folow the DOC Jan has provided.

Hello
Just like to add to what others have posted:
Once you have applied the tftpdnld config follow it by SET command to save your changes
Would also make sure that you pic nic is set to auto negotiate

As for pinging the tftp server ( ie the windows pic) from rommon,Not sure this can be done, as the routers interface is only initialised when you initiate the tftpdnld command. ( I could be wrong though!)
