Router to router connection

Hi guys . I  had an issue to connect two routers C892FSP-K9 gigabit #8  and CISCO891W-AGN-A-K9  fastethernet port #8  and ahd this :

Jun 24 18:38:25.115 UTC: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface FastEthernet8, changed state to up
Jun 24 18:38:25.115 UTC: %PQII_PRO_FE-5-LOSTCARR: PQII_PRO/FE(8), Lost carrier. Transceiver problem?
Jun 24 18:38:32.115 UTC: %LINEPROTO-5-UPDOWN: Line protocol on Interface FastEthernet8, changed state to down

Tried to change port settings made both hard 100 mb speed and full duplex , then both as auto on both side -nothig helped , ports are still up-down.

Has anyone faced with this kind of issue and know how to fix it ?

Whats connected to G8 , seen this before duplex fixed it for me but looking at the below output from your logs unknown media , try each side set the media type under the interface see the link will help

Full Duplex, 100Mbps, media type is unknown media type

I guess that may have a sense . gi port is like combo has rj45 and sfp I forgot about it and forgot to change media type .

I changed media type to rj45 and  need to test again later . But by default that port is auto so should auto detect connection and switch to correct media type  :-( .

Hi Bekzod,

Please Let me know the following confirmation.

Have you assigned IP add for GigabitEthernet8.?

Please check and let us know

FastEthernet8 is down, line protocol is down
Hardware is PQII_PRO_UEC, address is f872.eac2.4433 (bia f
  Description: TO_HOUSEHOLDROUTER
  Internet address is 192.168.107.1/30
  MTU 1500 bytes, BW 100000 Kbit/sec, DLY 100 usec,
     reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
GigabitEthernet8 is down, line protocol is down
Hardware is PQ3_TSEC, address is f44e.056e.5b4b (bia f44e.056e.5b4b)
  Description: TO_WAN2
  MTU 1500 bytes, BW 100000 Kbit/sec, DLY 100 usec,
     reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255

From your log you have assigned IP address 192.168.107.1/30 for Fast 8, But you are not assigned any IP address for Giga 8.

If it's not, please assign the IP address 192.168.107.2/30 for Giga 8

Please check with the same and let me know..

at the time of testing both interfaces had ip . the problem is they didn't communicate on 1st and 2nd level , getting up-down.  one of them constantly was losing carrier .
