routing issue on server

Hi all, can anyone help me on this issue, I have a surver that connects to a lan, and uses a dial up modem. When the modem dials, the lan connection drops until disconnected, I see that when the modem dials a default route is put in the routing table and then the connections to my lan drop. is there any way to stop this ?

What server OS in question?

If it's a Windows Server, try enabling "Routing and Remote Access" service.
