S720 booting to router

tswank
Level 1
Level 1

Hello,

I am currently taking the Cisco Routing and Switching class through NetAcademy. I went out and purchased a used 6500 Cisco with a S720 switch. Unfortunately, it boots to the router, and I am unable to get it to the switch. I believe it's missing the bootflash. If so, how can I fix this issue

Hi,

What is the output of "sh run" when the switch boots?

Also, 6500 is too big and too expensive to use for a lab environment and maintain. All you need is a 3750 to do the labs.

Not sure what you mean by this.

You know that you configure the L2 and L3 parts using the same CLI ?

Thanks for what you have provided so far. Can you give us some more information?

- the output of dir sup-bootflash

- you have provided partial output showing the boot process. Can you reboot and capture and post all of the console output during the boot process?

I set the boot variable, still am unable to access switch.

How are you attempting to access the switch? Can you give us a screen shot of your attempt to access the switch and what response you get?

I asked for these - can you post these results

- the output of dir sup-bootflash

- you have provided partial output showing the boot process. Can you reboot and capture and post all of the console output during the boot process?
