we have core switch C1 connected to  N5k switch T1, in T1, two server with ip 192.168.0.12(connecting to E103/1/12) and 192.168.0.14 (connecting to E103/1/14), these two are fex. and using same access vlan.

both E103/1/12 and E103/1/14 is up up and Mac address is learning in T1 switch.

but in C1, we can only ping 192.168.0.12 but not 192.168.0.14, both these two servers have same gateway. may i know why 192.168.0.14 is not able to reach( we have no access list configured)

Hello,

You've probably already done the following, but just to make sure:

  • Ensure both servers use same subnet mask
  • Check if 192.168.0.14 can ping gateway
  • Try disabling and enabling the NIC on the 192.168.0.14 server

With both servers on same subnet, same switch, and same gateway, and with only 1 working... I can't think of much to check on the switches itself. This sounds more like a server misconfiguration somewhere. Sometimes disabling and enabling the NIC on the workstation/server can resolve connectivity issues.

Edit: Other causes could be bad drivers as well.
