In satellite communications, different frequency bands are used for the uplink and the downlink. Why do this pattern occurs.

 (we used Asia Sat for 10MB Bandwidth when there were no Fibre Links in India) as ISP, we used to Operate 10MB uplink/Downlink symmetrically, later we move to asymmetric, then sea cable available took for 3-5 years to get Fibre.

 

In General :

Avoid interference between uplink and downlink frequencies.
