Hi,
I just created a home lab, but I'm having trouble to do a initial ping test. I attached my network diagram and the configuration file. I only configured two switches, server and desktop but not routers yet.
Please help.

Can each device ping it's own default gateway ?
If so can you -
1) from the PC ping 11.0.0.1 ie. the server vlan default gateway
if this works then check for host firewalls on both devices
2) if it doesn't work can you post a "sh ip route" from the switch.

I can ping both device to their gateway, but I can't ping PC to server's gateway. both firewalls are off. I did "sh ip route" but it says bad command.

Apologies, I didn't look at your diagram closely enough.
The 2950 switch doesn't support routing (unless Packet Tracer behaves differently) so as Glen says you will need to use one of the routers for that.
Edit - do you know how to configure that or do you need some help with the commands ?

but the switch still should be able let server and destop to communicate with each other right?

No, because they are in different vlans and the only way for devices in different vlans to communicate is to setup routing on a L3 device.

I changed 2950 L2 switch and replaced with 3560 L3 switch. I also enabled routing on the new switch and it's working now! I'm able to ping from Server, PC, SW1 and R1. I didn't realize th 2950 is L2 switch and didn't know I have to enable routing it in order for 2 VLAN to communicate with each other.
I really appreciate the help, and I will remember you!

re the server and pc in the same vlan on the 2950 ? if so they should ping. Also make sure you have the windows FW off in the pc if you arent originating the ping from the pc.If they aren't in the same vlan then it won't work until you set up routing in your 2900's.

they are in the different vlan. both firewalls are off. I'm only testing up to the swith part, why I have to set up routing?
