SG250 stops responding after adding IP address to VLAN

I have 2 pcs. of SG250-08HPs and I try to use them.

To configure the switch I connected it directly to my laptop (so there is no other device between them).
I created all VLANs in GUI. All interfaces are configured correctly.

I need to add an IP address to a VLAN ('IP Configuration > IPv4 Management and Interfaces > IPv4 Interface").

(So I did not try to change the already existing and used IP address)

After adding a static IP address (with correct network mask ) the box stops responding.

IPv4 routing is enabled.

I tried it from GUI and CLI but the result was the same

interface VLAN 999

name "MGMT"
ip address 10.230.52.206 255.255.255.192

I upgraded the software, the issue remained.

Any suggestion how to add IP address to the switch's VLAN interface?

From what IP address before you try to access the device ? what is your PC IP address ?

did you change your connected port vlan 999 ? then you need to change your IP address to get access to switch - should in the same range - 10.230.52.X

There was no IP address configured before.

The original 192.168.1.254 was used to reach the switch over a direct cable from my laptop plugged in GE1.

The VLAN999 (along with some others) was configured on GE8 (as trunk, uplink), but that port was not connected.

I wanted to add the new / final management IP address to VLAN 999. .

After I clicked on 'Apply' on GUI or hit the enter on CLI after the IP address command

the ping in background stopped and the switch became unresponsive.

Did you get this working? I'm having the same issue.

explain what that mean of same problem ? changing vlan 1 IP address or adding new VLAn ?

I too have this same problem. You can attempt to use the built in wizard, you can try and build them manually and even the CLI, (when enabling SSH). They will all fail. As soon as you change the default IP or even try and add a new VLAN, such as Vlan2, then try and associate the new IP, the switch stops responding, and hangs.

The switch loose VLAN 1 IP in the very moment, you configure another VLAN's IP.

So I connect to the switch using VLAN 1 IP (192.168.1.254 as default) on e.g. port 1, configured a new VLAN, assigned the new VLAN (e.g. 999) to a port (e.g. as untagged. Now I can configure IP for VLAN 999, connect my laptop to port 8 and connect to the new configured IP.
