Hi all, when I do a show ip route on my router, what is the time it shows on the route? is that the time it last recieved an update? and generally if an interface goes down and routes are associated to that interface, does it remove the route out the table?

Hi Carl,you are right the time on the output of the show ip route is the time since the last update was sent, if an interface goes down the route is not taken from the router right away it first has hold down timers to pervent a route from retransmitting a route that is not up, need any more info just ask!

I'm trying to verify that right now but apparently it indicates the length of time this route has been known to the router not the last time an update was received for this route.
