Site to Site IPSec VPN - can browse by IP but not machine names or shares

Hi,

I'm confused.  I have locations connected IPSec using two RV120w and one RV130

location 1: 11.11.11.1

location 2: 12.12.12.1

location 3: 192.168.0.1

I can browse and access printers and items at my other locations by IP but I can't see any network shares, my NAS or machines on my network.  The tunnel is connected and working but I can only see local computers not all computers at all 3 locations.  I want everyone to access my NAS by share name, not IP.

What am I doing wrong?  Is it a firewall setting?

If I am understanding the situation correctly you are attempting to use Windows networking to remote sites. But Windows networking is oriented to local networking. Perhaps you need ip helper-address configured at the sites to forward the broadcasts that are used for Windows networking. In this situation the issue is about remote sites and not necessarily about VPN issues.

My Windows support experience is rather old, as in NT 3.x, but as Rick says Windows networking was oriented toward the LAN (subnet).  I recall for it to work well across subnets, you needed Windows clients to use a WINS server for remote resource identification.  Unsure what current off-net resource requirements are, but if you do ipconfig /all, and don't have a WINS Server, that might be an issue.
