Hello everyone,

after upgrade a cisco 3850 to version 16.12.04 i want to register this switch on our On Prem Satellite for smart licensing.

But i got these Error Messages:

Status: REGISTERING - REGISTRATION IN PROGRESS
Export-Controlled Functionality: NOT ALLOWED
Initial Registration: FAILED on Dec 04 11:17:20 2020 CEST
Failure reason: Fail to send out Call Home HTTP message.

In the switch log i can find these error Message:

Dec 4 10:01:04.462: %CALL_HOME-5-SL_MESSAGE_FAILED: Fail to send out Smart Licensing message to: https:// (ERR 220 : HTTP protocol level failure)
Dec 4 10:01:04.463: %SMART_LIC-3-AGENT_REG_FAILED: Smart Agent for Licensing Registration with the Cisco Smart Software Manager (CSSM) failed: Fail to send out Call Home HTTP message.
Dec 4 10:01:04.464: %SMART_LIC-3-COMM_FAILED: Communications failure with the Cisco Smart Software Manager (CSSM) : Fail to send out Call Home HTTP message.

IP Http client source Interface , Name Server  and NTP Server are correctly set and working.

How can i fix this issue?

Thanks for your help!

I had this same problem during the initial on-prem server set up.  After reviewing this thread I found that I used an incorrect URL in the call-home profile.  Failed to catch the details of the URL are different between the Cisco site and the On-Prem server.

From the user guide:

NOTE: The destination URL is: http://<ip-address>:80/Transportgateway/services/DeviceRequestHandler
