Some commands don't get written to config

Hi

I'm seeing an issue on 2 of my switches (6509 with SUP720b) where they dont seem to save comands to the running config. For example: If I edit the config of one of my 10Gb fiber interfaces with the follwing comands:

conf t

     Int te9/1

          switchport

          switchport mode dynamic desireable

          switchport trunk encapsulation negotiate

If I then do a "show run int te9/1" I only see the following config

     switchport

The wierd thing is that if I do a "switchport trunk encapsulaion dot1q" then that IS saved to the running config.

I cant figure out why this would be the case? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

John

Im thinking that this is maybe default behavior?

Thats correct , the default behavior is  desirable for trunking mode and the encapsu

lation is negotiated so it will not show in config.  If you change it to like switchport mode trunk it will

show up.

Thanks guys.

I guess I was worrying about nothing!
