Hey everyone. We had some serious issues between Building 1 (B1) and Building 2 (B2). And the only way we arrived at to fix them, was to put each in a separate VLAN.
So B1 is 192.168.10.x, 255.255.255.0
B2 is 192.168.11.x, 255.255.255.0
Each site has its own server. Well now the folks in B2 need to access B1's server. How do I go about doing that?? Will I have to "widen" the subnet mask to 255.255.0.0, or can I make the 2 users at B2 who need access to the B1 server members of two VLANs??
I am obviously pretty new to this, and would appreciate any help!
Thanks!

Not sure what your routing situation looks like -
Couldn't you put virtual interfaces on those vlans, and then route between them?
Ie, the switches have IP addresses on those subnets, and then you route those other vlans to them.
So if B1 switch had 192.168.10.254 as it's ip address, you'd route 192.168.11.0 to it, and if the B2 switch had 192.168.11.254 as it's IP address, you route 192.168.10.0 to it.
This is assuming you are trunking those vlans between the buildings.

hopefully you didn't just have 2 switches hooked together , if so you are going to have to invest in a router or a l2/3 switch to route between the vlans . If you have a router it should just route between them , if these are switches then you have to have a way to route between the vlans .

?Fast Ethernet ports 1/0/0 and 1/0/1 and subinterface 1/0/2.1 on the switch router are in bridge group 1, and they are part of VLAN 50.
?Fast Ethernet ports 3/0/0 and 3/0/1 and subinterface1/0/2.2 are in bridge group 2, and they are part of VLAN 100.
?Fast Ethernet port 1/0/2 is configured as an ISL trunk.
