Just trying to confirm- can I create a SPAN session across different module #s in a 6500, and if so where is the doc that states this? I can't find a Cisco doc that mentions this. Thanks!

Yes it is definitely possible
For eg.. span source can be in the 1st module and the span destination can be in the 8th module (or any other module).
As long as the source and the destination are on the same switch, it is a local span session

I had a quick look but can't find a doc stating it specifically but i have configured SPAN on 6500 switches before using ports across modules. Local SPAN simply means on the same switch so you should be able to use any of the switch module ports.
