I think I am right but I just want to verify this, I have 18 ports that I want to be monitored through one source. Can the monitor session be 1? or do I have to put 18. This is my config

monitor session 1 source interface Gi1/0/1 - 18
monitor session 1 destination interface Gi1/0/19

Does this

The monitor session <number> is the identifier of the SPAN session. Its used to match the sources of the SPAN session with the destinations.

Depending on the hardware platform, you can have 1, 2 or more SPAN sessions that you can configure simultaneously.

Your configuration is valid.
