I'm looking to replace a pair of WS-C4500x-16 switches, possibly with a pair of C9500-16x switches. My question is, when configuring SVL on the new 9500 pair, could I use the two 10/100G interfaces for SVL configuration and then use one of the 1/10G ports for DAD link?
I know the config guide says that my SVL ports must be the same, I'm wanting to confirm my dual active detection link could be a different type.
Thanks,
Richard

Hello!
Yes you can use a port of different speed for DAD link. Have done it successfully on the C9500-48 and 9500-24.

The DAD link can be any speed you want. One Gig is usually more than enough, but if you have the optics and the extra ports to do 10 Gig, you can do that too.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. @Reza Sharifi I agree that 1G is more that adequate for the DAD link and that will be my intended deployment. Thanks @DanielP211 for confirming.
