Hello I have been trying to upgrade the Nexus OS on a Nexus 5010 in a staging area. After configuring the mgmt0 interface and my laptop on the same subnet, I can ping the switch from my laptop but canot reach my laptop from the switch. I get an error that the switch cannot find the route does not exist. mgmt0 is configured for 10.1.1.55/24 and laptop is 10.1.1.1/24.
I used the iproute in vrf context 0.0.0.0 10.1.1.1 (next hop my laptop).
When I put the full config on the switch with an active defgwy, then I can tftp the new image from my laptop.
How do I configure mgmt0 to to talk directly to my laptop for the upgrades before putting the switch on the network or is there another way? Are the mgmt ports layer 3 only?
Thanks,
d.j.
