Hello,
When enabling storm control with action " SNMP Trap" does this restrict broadcast traffic and send an SNMP trap when the broadcast threshold is exceeded, or does it only send an SNMP trap and still allow broadcast traffic to pass?
Cheers,

Hi,
After configuring storm control, you can assign and action to it. The action can be shutdown or send trap when the configured trash-hold exceeds.
Router(config-if)# storm-control action { shutdown | trap }

Hi Reza,
I know this thread is quite old, but I needed this answer too. But you didn't really answer..
From my understanding even if Cisco docos are not that clear on the subject, action "trap" will indeed filter the portion of traffic over the configured threshold AND generate a SNMP trap.
Hopefully someone else can confirm.
Cheers
