STP blocking control

Gents we have four switches which are connected in the ring. Switch 1 connects to switch 2, switch 2 connects to switch 3 and switch 3 connects to switch 4. They all are trunks

I want to run HSRP between switch one and switch 2 . Will make switch 1 root bridge and switch 2 secondary root. I want to block ports (ie trunk port myself) rather then STP. What is the command to do it. Shd i be adding the command to all four?

can you provide a schematic drawing of your setup, as it is unclear what you are trying to accomplish. What exactly do you mean with manually blocking ? And HSRP is a layer 3 functionality...

Try: spanning-tree cost #

You don't need to, but you might if you're trying to make clear you're managing STP costs manually.
