Hi Experts

I am facing a very strange issue regarding HSRP in which secondary router is showing the correct role of standby and also showing primary router as active router. But Primary router is saying Active is local but standby unknown. Seems Primary router is not in Sync. Moreover, Secondary router is is unable to ping standby Virtual IP, but able to ping Primary Router's Interface IP. and Primary route is able to ping interface IP of Secondary router and Standby virtual IP.

Topology is : R1 (Primary) Sub interface config--->Trunk port L2 Switch (Two switches in Fabric path) Trunk port--->R2 (Secondary) Sub interface config.

Same Topology is working on other side and showing correct roles of Active and Standby. dont know what is missing here or it is something else.

Please Help.

Regards

Gary

Is IGMP snooping enabled on any device involved? Can you see the expected packets if you enable debug logging 'debug standby packets'?

Happy to help! Please mark as helpful/solution if applicable.
