I was working on some SUP engines today at work and notice alot, if not all, have two what looks like RJ-45 connectors next to the GBIC "cradles" on the inside. What is this used for? Does anyone have a clue?
Just curious

If the sup has an MSFC, it is a console port to the MSFC. It is seldom used since you can "switch console 15 or 16" from sup console to gain console connection to the MSFC. but it is there if needed.

Thats pretty cool. I knew about the "switch console" command. I guess in a wierd hardware problem or something that would keep you from using switch console, you would have that added backup console port. Cool.
Thanks
