Hello,
I have a SUP720-3BXL that will not boot. It will get stuck at booting from the SP. It never switches over to the RP.
this is where it stops booting at
"rommon 4 > boot disk0:s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI9.bin
Loading image, please wait ...
Initializing ATA monitor library...
Self extracting the image... [OK]
Self decompressing the image : ####################################################################################################################################################################################################### [OK]
HW indicate it is sup3, but idprom is not"
Is the SP bad?
Thank you in advance.

Can you try
confreg 0x2102
Also, since you have the IOS in bootflash:
Can you try booting from boot flash instead of disk0:
boot bootdisk:s72033-adventerprisek9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI9.bin

Yes, if it is under Warranty and you have SmartNet open a ticket with TAC and RMA it.

I had the same issue, the causes could be different but I solved it by going into rommon after it switched over to the route processor, then I went into confreg and discovered the boot characteristics were not set to what they should have been. I changed the setting to 2 and once I reset I started getting clean boot ups.
