Dear all,
can someone tell me how many ipv4 and ipv6 routes are supported on the Catalyst 3850 switch.
According to the data sheet it is mentioned that the switch supports 24000 ipv4 routes but there
is nothing mentioned about IPv6 ?
Can someone please help me here - thank you regards
Stefan

Hi Stefan,
For most larger platforms the supported IPv6 routes are 50% of IPv4 routes. So, if IPv4 is 24000 than IPv6 if approximately 12000.
Also have a look this document
These numbers are typical for L2 and IPv4 features. Some features such as IPv6, use up double the entry size; so only half as many entries can be created.

HI Reza,
many thanks for your fast response .For my understanding that would mean the following :
If i would have e.g 12000 ipv4 routes I could have 6000 Ipv6 routes in parallel when i exploit all the resources of the switch , correct ?
Regards
stefan

Hi,
No, that is the max amount the switch supports. So, you can have 12000 IPv4 and 12000 IPv6 and you still have room to configure 12000 more IPv4s.
