Switch ports doubt

Hello,

I have a Cisco 2960 with 24 ports and 2 additional SPF+ ports.

When checking the configuration, I see a total of 26 GigabitEthernet and also 2 TenGigabitEthernet ports. Total of 28 ports.

Is it possible that port 25 and 26 are those TenGigabitPorts but configured as Gigabit ?

Thanks and regards.

@bern46 correct. as i guessed. if you plugged 10G-SR, you need to configure tengig interfaces and if you plugged 1G SFP, you can configure gig interfaces,

It's WS-C2960X-24TD-L. I've seen both with 2 and 4 sfp ports. This one has 2

Thanks

its dual mode ports you can use for 1Gig and 10Gig SFP on that ports. so you need to use either gig or tengig ( so totaly only 26 ports)

So it's normal they appear twice as Gig and TenGig ports ?

Thanks for the fast replies.

if you can share exact model number, we can tell exact supported and count of ports

This is shown in show verion (note it's a stack of 2)

52 Gigabit Ethernet interfaces
4 Ten Gigabit Ethernet interfaces

And interface status shows port 25 and 26 configured as 1Gig:

Gi1/0/25 connected trunk a-full a-1000 1000BaseSX SFP
Gi1/0/26 pc + VoIP notconnect 1 auto auto 1000BaseSX SFP

Is it normal that show running-config still displays the TenGig port even they're configured as Gig?

friend there are two physical  Ten port in each SW
the port are
24 port + 2 multi Gig port + 2 Ten ports
the total number you will see
48+ 4 = 52 gig port
4 Ten ports
for both SW.

without seeing exact model number i cannot say the 100% accuracy of this. but it seems like 2960X 24 port with 2 SFP+ ports. so config will show 2 SFP+ ports as tengigs. some switches have 2 port configurations for 1 and 10gig. this can be like that.
