hi all,

I am aware i can set the router to send messages to a syslog server, by using the 'log' keyword after my ACL statement.

I am wondering and want to know what other parameters i can observe with a syslog server.

Also can you point me somewhere with more info on the subject ??

Thanks,

George

Hi! George

You can set the severity level of the messages to control the type of messages you want to receive on your syslog server. The severity level varies from 0 to 7, with 0 being the highest severity level. You can also use the time stamp service to help you better in analysing the logs.

For more info on how to configure your syslog you can refer the following link -->

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps628/products_configuration_guide_chapter09186a00804762a4.html#wp1031557

Hope that helps.

Please rate the post if it does.
