Hi,
%SYSTEM_CONTROLLER-3-COR_MEM_ERR: Correctable DRAM memory error. Count 668774, log 810A1805
%SYSTEM_CONTROLLER-3-MORE_COR_ERR: 255 correctable DRAM memory errors in previous hour
Does this have any impact or effect to the service? Can this define as a cosmetic or not?
Thank you.

- FYI : https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCsg47576
As long as the errors remain correctable , there is no impact, but it may be indicative of a failing memory component(s) on the supervisor , so the supervisor may need replacement in the end. You can also connect to the 6509 with https://cway.cisco.com/cli , at the top left press or run System Diagnostics.

Do have dual sup card in the chasis or only 1, try reseating and test it.

Unfortunately, I have only 1 sup in the chassis (slot 5).

is this effecting any performance issue or you worried about logs.
if i were you, i take maintenance window , reseat the DIMM and plug back the module and switch and test it.
Sup720 EOL Long back, so understand the risk before you make any complicated troubleshooting.

I worried about the logs. Also if I down the supervisor, I'm afraid that there is a risk that it cannot bootup.

- In a business (critical) context , you need to have replacement equipment available if eol and or end-of-support equipment is failing or starts to give you warnings!

In this case any way business risk running every day, suggest your managment to buy a refurbished Sup 720 ( available in the market for cheaper price ) and do the maintenance.

Post the complete output to the command "sh version".
NOTE: Remove the hostname. Leave everything else.

Color me impressed!

For Sup720, the most well-acknowledged stable IOS are the SXI and SXJ trains.
I suspect this is just memory rot compounded by the exceptionally high uptime.

Hello,
on a side note, according to the link below:
Recommended action: If the error message appears infrequently, no action is required. If the message reoccurs, reseat the SDRAM SIMM on the supervisor engine. If errors persist, replace the SIMM. If the errors continue after the SIMM is replaced, the supervisor engine may need to be replaced.
