SYSTEM INIT: INSUFFICIENT MEMORY TO BOOT THE IMAGE!

i keep getting this error on boot, though i have the ip base image. it worked before, than someone played with it and it stoped.

can someone help?

You have enough memory (256MB) and the software only requires 128MB. It seems the IOS is corrupted. You must reinstall a clean copy on flash and try again.

I have same issue, with a 3560, I have already load the image and it is not working, another advice please?

I didn't get any response from Cisco.
So I don't have any solution.
Maybe in a few months I will make another try to fix this issue.

I loaded various new IOS.
Tried and tested several working flash cards from identical routers.
No solution!
The error of rebooting again and again remains.
But I noticed the following on another router 2801:
Router set up with a standard configuration.
Router runs fine.
Then I configured NAT / PAT.
After that, the router always reboots.
The startup-config apparently creates a buffer overflow.
Question:
Can the startup-config be deleted in rommon>?

Maybe I found a solution.

It could be a corrupt startup-config.

I configuered a Standard config in a 2801 Router .

Hostname, Password, and so on.

The Router works fine.

Next I configure NAT. 

After saving the run to start and reload the error occurs.

So my question:

How can I reset the startup-config in

I have the same problem with my 3550. It worked fine for a few weeks then one day I got the INSUFFICIENT MEMORY TO BOOT THE IMAGE

yes, i reloaded the image with tftp, it erased the flash, and now it's working fine.
