Hello,
I am trying to create a backup of my 2620 router so I can use for GNS3.
I have only configured the IP address on my FastEthernet port. Having many issues with no connection to my pc, finally I found that you must enable the interface 'no shutdown'. Now I have a valid connection
I have made no other configurations on this router, everything else is default.
I can successfully PING from both ends
**PROBLEM: My problem is that when trying to 'copy flash' to my TFTP server, the response is**
".....
%Error opening tftp://192.168.1.3/c2600-advsecurityk9-mz.124-1a.bin (Timed out)
Router"
Is there another setting I should enable?
Remember I have made no other configurations bar the ones above.
If you can help, you will have solved my 3 day quest
Thank you in advance

If you can ping both ways then you have demonstrated that there is IP connectivity. This is a good beginning.
Probably the next step is to verify that you have a tftp server application running on your PC and that the router has write permissions in the server.
If that checks out then my next suggestion would be to check to see if there is a firewall running on your PC. And if so is the firewall permitting the tftp request.
